Check with the developer of the software product that came with the hardware key to determine whether a driver needs to be installed. Modern Guardant hardware dongles support operation without driver installation if this feature is enabled by the application developer.

Windows 10/11 users: before starting driver installation, make sure that the Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection feature has not been activated.

Hardware-enforced stack protection works with Intel processors with Control-Flow Enforcement Technology (CET) and AMD processors with Shadow Stack. However, this technology is only available to users of the Pro and Enterprise editions of Windows.

Windows 7/Server 2008R2 users: KB4474419 update is required to install the driver.
