Guardant is an all-in-one solution for protecting software from reverse engineering and piracy, managing licenses flexibly, enabling new business models, and fully automating your software sales pipeline. The diagram below illustrates the Guardant software protection and licensing workflow. This process is broken down into four key stages, showing the collaboration between three key roles: the Developer, the Sales Manager, and the End User.
The process begins with the developer's source code—the unprotected software files.
The developer integrates Guardant's protection mechanisms. This one-time setup binds the software to a license structure and protects the code from reverse engineering, analysis, and modification. Developers can apply protection using the automated Guardant Protection Studio utility or directly via the Guardant Licensing API. The result is a single, protected software distributable, ready for any customer.
The sales manager defines the commercial terms for the software. This includes setting license terms like expiration dates, accessible feature modules, or the number of network users. The manager configures the sales model and can track and analyze all licenses in the field. They independently determine the most effective license strategy to drive sales and then generate the license, delivering it to the customer on a Guardant hardware key or as a software key..
The end user receives the software and license. They can easily activate the product on their device. The Guardant system automatically enforces all license terms in the background, giving the user seamless access to the protected software.
This workflow covers the entire lifecycle, from initial code protection to flexible sales management and a simple end-user activation experience.
