How to Update Guardant Software

After Internet connection has been established, you should run "Updating Guardant via Internet" application. GSOFTUPD.EXE program will be started. It will automatically connect to the web site of Aktiv company and download the information about the latest release of Guardant software.

Then the program will display a list of Guardant software components available for downloading.

The checked components are either not available or have become outdated and need an update. You may also check any other components to download.

The types of Guardant dongles to which the master kit software has been adjusted (i.e., for which you have specified access codes) are displayed in the right part of the window. Note, that if you download a component for the keys to which your software is not yet adjusted, then after the download it will work with demo-dongles only. Therefore, you should first update from a distributive medium (to adjust your software to the new keys), and then return to the on-line method (to update the software).

After you have marked all components you are interested in, click on [Download]. The components will be downloaded into \PAKS subdirectory under the directory containing Guardant software. Then click on [Finish], and downloaded components will be updated by SETUP program. Downloaded components are not removed from \PAKS subdirectory; you can use them for repeated downloading using a method described below. Besides, downloaded components cannot be re-downloaded (unless they have been updated). This allows you to reduce download time, for example, during a session closedown in case of emergency.
